Understanding ELLs: Meeting the Needs of English Language Learners in Today’s Classrooms

Speaker: Ellen M. Rintell, Ed.D.
Dr. Ellen Rintell has been an ESL teacher, a teacher in a bilingual (English and Spanish) public school program, and an ESL teacher educator. Dr. Rintell is a Professor Emerita of Education Department of Literacy, Counseling, and Learner Development at Salem State University. She also served as a Principal Investigator of Project NOBELL Secondary and Coordinator of Master of Arts in Teaching ESL at Salem State. This workshop will consider what ELL students’ academic, linguistic, and cultural needs are.
ü The workshop is free and open to all educators in the Public Schools of Brookline.
ü 2 PDPs can be earned through this workshop.
ü Certificate of Participation will be given at the end of the workshop for those who register by January 15, 2015.
