Reading Group

Brookline Public Schools Reading Group

Friday Reading Group

Come read with us at the Brookline Main Library!

Who Can Come?

Our program is designed to support emerging and struggling readers in grades 1 through 5 in the district's ELL program.

For children who are at the beginning foundational level, their parents are encouraged to stay and participate alongside to get familiarized with our teaching method.

If your child's reading skills are at a higher level, for example, if they can independently read and understand Henry and Mudge book series, this program may not be the best choice for him/her. Please visit the following website and take a look at the sample pages by clicking on the book image. https://www.amazon.com/Henry-Mudge-First-Cynthia-Rylant/dp/0689810059

When? Where?

The program runs every Friday between 2 pm and 4 pm. Students come at their scheduled time and stay for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please Contact Sejin H. Choi to find out what time slots are currently available.

We follow the Public Schools of Brookline calendar. If school is closed, Reading Group will be closed (e.g., holidays, vacations, snow days, etc.)

How to Register?

For more information or to register, please contact Sejin H. Choi at:

Where Do We Meet?

We meet in the Conference Room (2nd floor) at the Brookline Main Library

located at 361 Washington St., Brookline 02445.

*The program is supported by the partnerships between the district's ELL program and the Brookline Main Library. It is important to follow all the library rules and guidelines.
