"For this workshop, we will discuss techniques for success on the verbal component of the SAT.  We will focus mainly on reading comprehension and vocabulary.  With reading comprehension, we will discuss the different types of passages students should expect to encounter on the SAT, the different skills that these passages will emphasize, and the range of question-types featured in all passages.  With vocabulary, we will discuss how to use context clues to make sense of unfamiliar words, and the special ways ELL parents can help their children learn new vocabulary.  Any extra time will be spent discussing strategies for the application essay and addressing parents' questions."
