This interactive workshop is designed to introduce the modern, English language picture book to immigrant parents of school-aged children. The presenter will discuss:
Ø the role that picture books play in American elementary education and English language acquisition
Ø some ways families can access and enjoy picture books together
Ø how reading picture books can inspire and engage us in telling and thereby honoring our own stories
